Pearl Harbor Attack At daybreak on December 7, 1941 Japan attacked the U.S at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. More than 3,400 people were killed or wounded. 12 ships sunk.

This attack was ordered by General Isoroku Yamamoto. The reason Japan attacked the U.S was because they wanted to keep the U.S out of the war in Asia.

September 11 In the morning of September 11, 2001, Al Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and attacked the Twin Towers in New York City. About 3,000 people died in the attack.

The leader of the Al Qaeda was Osama bin Laden. The reason he decided to attack the U.S was because he wanted the Western powers to leave the Middle East.

After Pearl Harbor Attack After Pearl Harbor attack, the U.S went to war with Japan. Also, Japanese Americans became visible targets. They were seen as spies. They were sent to the internment camps.

After September 11 Attack The U.S started the war in Afghanistan and Iraq after the 9/11. US Sikhs became visible targets because they wore turbans and long beards. Some Sikhs left the U.S because they were afraid they would be attacked by the mob.

Pearl Harbor-Now After the Pearl Harbor attack, the US government built a memorial on the place where USS Arizona sunk.

Twin Towers-Now The New York City government decided to rebuild the World Trade Tower. They made a memorial to the victims of 9/11 on the original site of the Twin Towers.
