What is the heart?

The heart is the center of man’s moral, spiritual, and intellectual life. It is the place in which one carries out the processes of self-consciousness.

What is the heart? Man experiences his emotions in the heart: love and hate - 1 Pet. 1:22, Ps. 105:25 joy and sorrow - Eccl. 2:10, John 16:6 peace and bitterness - Col. 3:15, Ezek. 27:31 courage and fear - Jer. 48:41, Gen. 42:28

What is the heart? Thinking process takes place in the heart. Has thoughts and intentions - Heb. 4:12. Where he thinks (Matt. 9:4), reasons (Mark 2:6) and understands (Job 38:36). Remembers (Deut. 4:9) and imagines (Jer. 9:14) Pursues knowledge (Prov. 22:17), makes plans (Prov. 6:18), and considers how to respond to situations (Prov. 15:28).
