What is Hungaroport? Hungaroport is a language teaching portal for students who learn Hungarian as a foreign language

Target of the project The primary goal of the portal is to join the dispersed user’s group by originating a forum to language learners Offers a flexible language teaching and cultural information system Assist users in raising their social mobility and in amending quality of life

Hungaroport The portal provides general information to learn the Hungarian language (language schools, learning materials, useful links, important information, etc.), online interactive test-system and various online interactive materials, and e-learning consultation and technical expertise.

Innovation Complex system for supporting education Synchronous (group) methods Asynchronous (individual) methods Combination of the two methods Possibility of continuous learning (from beginner to proficiency level) Lifelong learning Open, customisable learning system

Online interactive test-system approximately test exercises (grouped by levels of knowledge and language categories) Two types of testing method: an adaptive test of 150 steps and three stages which the computer will use to determine user’s level of knowledge on a 7- level basis the placement test, in which case user predetermines the assumed level of knowledge

Online interactive test-system (cont.) Determination of test levels and functions in the interactive test-system follows the recommendations of the European Council, the ALTE framework, the requirements of ITK Origó examination system

Online materials At present on the portal can be found two courses (material) Hungarian step-by-step Listening Courses contain different types of grammar exercises Exercises are presented by grouped into themes and levels of knowledge in predetermined order

Hungarian step-by-step material Grammar exercises for beginners and intermediate students Both level contains 25 steps (language course units) Interactive exercises, grammatical descriptions and examples in a separated window, controlling tests User learns one phenomenon in each step Storing test results

Listening material Listening exercises for intermediate and higher intermediate students The texts and exercises are grouped by themes and levels of knowledge Real audio sounds with pre-built player Interactive exercises with feedback The written texts are provided to help users have better understanding

User authentication, online payment Logging in, registration for differentiating users Storing courses and user results Full access to course materials (without any registration and payment the portal can be used only in demo mode) Users can buy predefined amount of user access hours (by connecting to the interface of the bank)
