 Korean War

How the war started  The Korean War began as a civil war between North and South Korea, but the conflict soon became international when, under U.S. leadership, the United Nations joined to support South Korea and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) entered to aid North Korea. The war left Korea divided and brought the Cold War to Asia.

Was the Korean was actually a war?  The answer is yes.  Because the war started getting bigger when America sent troops and ships to South Korea.  Also when China decided to take North Korea’s side.

Opposition side  Democratic People's Republic of Korea  People's Republic of China  Soviet Union

Outcome of the war  The results of the Korean War in 1950 were a military stalemate resulting in the continued division of the country. The Korean War was the first war in which the United Nations played a major role in. It was also part of the cold war between the US and Soviet Union. The political boundaries of the Korean peninsula did not change significantly.

Douglas McArthur  He was the commander of the US and UN forces combating the North.

President Truman  He was the president that to intervene in the Korean conflict, less Communism spread.

Mao Zedong  He ruled China and sent military help to North Korea.
