Keep it simple! Right: Housing Article 11, ICESCR 1. The States Parties to the present Covenant recognize the right of everyone to an adequate standard of living for himself and his family, including adequate food, clothing and housing, and to the continuous improvement of living conditions.

Keep it simple! The problem: pigeon waste The standard: Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights General Comment number 4: Clause 8 (d) Habitability. Adequate housing must be habitable, in terms of providing the inhabitants with adequate space and protecting them from cold, damp, heat, rain, wind or other threats to health, structural hazards, and disease vectors.

Keep it simple The monitoring plan: Pigeon Waste How do we know NIHE are addressing the problem? Partitions on landing will be cleaned How often do we check? Once a month What improvements do we want? All clean (every time we check) How do we check if being done? Photographs/Report cards (to check when something is being done)/EGAN (official stats from the NIHE), Incident diary (official stats from the NIHE – concierge – should be noted every time cleaned
