Standard Grade Computing MOUSE A mouse is moved over a pad letting the cursor on the screen select objects & choose from menus. KEYBOARD By pressing keys on the keyboard, characters are entered into the computer ready to be processed. Foundation Ergonomic

Standard Grade Computing TRACKBALL By moving the ball you can select objects and choose from menus. Good when you do not have a surface for the ball movement. JOYSTICK Excellent for playing computer games as it allows you to easily move the cursor around the screen. TRACKPAD A flat touch sensitive area used instead of a mouse to control a pointer. It is usually found with a laptop. Foundation

Standard Grade Computing GRAPHICS TABLET A mouse / stylus is used to move over a pad. The pressure is sensed & the signals are read into the processor. TOUCH SENSITIVE SCREEN Foundation A light-sensitive pen is used to select objects on a computer screen. A screen that has a touch- sensitive transparent panel covering it. Your finger is used to point to objects on the screen. L I G H T P E N

Standard Grade Computing SCANNER Text & graphics are scanned, digitised, then the image is sent to the processor. DIGITAL STILL CAMERA Images are stored on memory card instead of film then downloaded to the computer for viewing and editing. General flatbed Hand held

WEBCAM Live moving images can be sent over the Internet for viewing. Often used with messenger or instead of security cameras. MICROPHONE This allows sound to be entered into the computer.
