Phase 1 Completed At the end of the training each teacher was given a flash drive with the pre-test, presentations, post test, and additional equipment information so they could begin working on the new curriculum. On August 27, 2014, Susan Hukkanen from Butte County Office of Education, arranged tours for school superintendents, district office staff and principals to visit four local manufacturing companies. On October 2, 2014, one thousand two hundred students attended the Manufacturer’s Expo at CSU Chico. As of February 18, 2015, all six local high schools have completed their “working tours”. We are working with education to offer both introductory and advanced courses at a local manufacturing facility for educators. Several other manufactures are interested in offering similar “Train-the- Trainer” instruction at their facilities here in Butte County. 23 Training

The purpose of the Butte County STEM Advisory Council is to be an advocate of STEM education by influencing the K-12 educational system in order to increase the success of students as they prepare for STEM-related careers. 24
