The Worthy Woman Epitome of Wisdom Throughout Proverbs

She Illustrates Proverbs Proverbs 31:10-31 acts like a conclusion to the whole book; the worthy woman is a prime example of what the whole book teaches; she brings together much of what the book has taught The 8 individual characteristics of the worthy woman have already been taught throughout the book and they are to be found in all persons

A Good Wife She is an example of a good wife (31:10). She stands in stark contrast to the adulteress (5:3-23; 6:20-35; 7:5-27; 9:13-18) The book has shown the alternatives between a good wife (12:4; 18:22; 19:14) and a poor wife (19:13; 21:9, 19; 25:24)

Spiritual Value She is an example of spiritual value (31:10, 20) The book has taught that wisdom is more valuable that jewels (3:13-16; 8:10-11, ; 16:16; 20:15; 22:4)

A Proper Family She is an example of concern for her husband (31:11-12, 23, 28), her household (31:15, 21, 27, 28), and her servants (31:15) The book has shown the importance of proper family relationships (10:1; 15:20; 17:2, 21; 19:13, 18, 26; 20:20; 22:6; 23:13-14, 22-25; 27:8; 28:7, 24; 29:3, 15, 17; 30:11, 17)

Hard Work She is an example of hard work (31:13-19, 22, 24-25, 27) The book has shown the virtue of hard work and the folly of laziness (6:6-11; 10:4-5, 26; 12:11, 24, 27; 13:4; 14:23; 15:19; 18:9; 19:15, 24; 20:4, 13; 21:25; 22:13, 29; 24:30-34; 26:13-16; 27:23-27; 28:19)

Graceful Tongue She is an example of a graceful tongue (31:26). Fear of the Lord She is an example of one who fears the Lord (31:30). She has inward beauty (11:22). The book has shown how the fear of the Lord is central to proper living (1:7, 29; 2:5; 8:13; 9:10; 10:27; 14:27; 16;6; 19:23; 22:4; 23:17)
