PlayStation were the first creators of a simple two joy stick and four trigger button controller, but were soon followed up by Xbox. Dualshock no.2 The dualshock 2 was released in 2000, with the PS2. This controller was a lot slimmer and was more reliable as the first dualshock received a lot of bad comments whereas this one did not. This controller was the first wireless controller that PlayStation has ever created, the reason they did this was so you could play a game anywhere with your controller. Dualshock no.4 The dualshock 4 was released in 2013 with the PS4. This controller was a fresh start for PlayStation, as it included a touchpad, and a PlayStation move laser on the front. Xbox Kinect system What is Xbox Kinect? Kinect is a line of motion sensing input devices by Microsoft for Xbox 360 and Xbox One video game consoles and Windows PCs. Based around a webcam- style add-on peripheral, it enables users to control and interact with their console/computer without the need for a game controller, through a natural user interface using gestures and spoken commands. What does Kinect do? Kinect traces movements around the room and puts that into practice on a TV screen without using a remote control. It is similar to the eye toy for PlayStation as you have to move to play a game. History of the Kinect motion system The Kinect was brought out in November 2010, this was an additional add on to the Xbox 360 model and sold over 24,000,000 copies and was and still is a common add on for all Xbox gamers as there have been games created specifically for Kinect.

Wii U Gaming pad. History The Wii U pad was brought into production in 2012, selling over 10 million copies it was one of Nintendo’s most popular products, This meant that other hand held devices had competition and this meant it was in competition with Nintendo’s own device the DS. How does it work? The Wii U pad works by being able to turn on your Wii and play additional games especially for the Wii u pad, This is because the Wii U pad has a small screen on it that you can play your games on. Guitar Hero Rhythm controller What is the guitar rhythm controller? The guitar rhythm controller is the main aspect of the game in which it is the only way you can play the game otherwise there would be no point playing it.
