The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a valley in the Andes mountains that is formed by the Urubamba River. It is close to Machu Picchu.

Saksaywaman is the former capital of the Incan Empire.

It’s always interesting to meet new people and to see and experience new cultures. Many locals are still connected with their Incan ancestors. Most of them proudly display and keep the Quechua culture.

Hand-woven textiles are some of the most famous handcrafts you’ll find in any part of Peru. Other great hand-made souvenirs can also be found in Peru.

Common Food Cuy, or guinea pig, is a delicacy in Peru. Locals usually eat cuy on special occasions. Rice is a common side for any dish you would get in Peru.

Common Drinks Chicha Morado is a typical Peruvian non-alcoholic drink. It's made from a base of purple maize Inca Kola is a common soft drink in Peru. The pop has an unusual sweet, fruity flavor. I would describe it as similar to cotton-candy.
