How does PI meet our business needs?  User Friendliness- PI Client tools and other apps.  Flexibility- Adapts well to changes in our portfolio.  Compatibility- Interfaces well with other Conectiv applications.  Reliability- 24/7 operation

PI-Not just a Data Historian Data Historian and much more. Platform against which we do in-house application development. Stores not just plant data, but market data too. Daily, Weekly and Monthly report generator for things as varied as environmental data reports to P&L reports to dispatch reports.

Conectiv PI Data Sources Conectiv PI Plants -Real-time Generation/Fuel Data Genscape PJM eMarket -Gen and Ancillary Services Market Data Bid Prices, Costs, DA Loads, Over-rides, Spinning Data etc. Operators Dispatch, Schedule, Unit Outage data using various in-house applications PJM eData -LMP’s

Conectiv’s PI based applications Various applications and reports to manage power generation assets. Use PISDK and VB/C#.NET. These applications render business functionality customized to the needs of Conectiv Energy. PI-Module Database forms the data and schema backbone of these applications. Two-way Interface with PI and Oracle data. Real-time two –way interfaces with PJM eSuite applications using XML SOAP calls. Very easily extensible- thanks to the Module DB and PISDK.

Unit Performance Reports

PISDK Architecture for Gen Apps One PI Module for the Generation portfolio A sub-module of the Portfolio Module corresponds to a Generation Unit. A Unit Module corresponds to a Unit class. Various Unit Parameters form the aliases/properties of the unit module and are accessed that way from the code. Very easy to add/delete units from the portfolio.

PI-Future at Conectiv Have recently installed a new Generation Management System and PI is the data historian for it. HA-PI system that has interfaces with our corporate PI system. Plan to convert every PI historian to an HA system Looking to leverage some of the web-based technologies at offer.

Thank You!
