Strategies for combination problems Unit of Study: Multiplication / Division Facts and Strategies Global Concept Guide: 4 of 4

Content Development  Approximately 2 days should be spent on students applying strategies for multiplication combination problems.  Before showing multiplication sentence, make sure students make the connection by using a tree diagram or another picture to track their combinations.

Day 1 and Day 2  The focus of day 1 and day 2 is students will be applying strategies for solving multiplication combination problems.  Students should draw their models, equations and record them in their journals.

Enrich/Reteach/Intervention  For Reteach students use Language Support Activity on p. 165B.  For Enrich students use E35 How Many Ways? (TE 166)  Another activity for Enrich students is Frozen Yogurt Store.Frozen Yogurt Store.
