Market Analysis Opportunities/ Market Trend Demand to home entertainment is more and more popular. ISPs in USA are promoting HDTV and multi-room service*. IPTV continues growth trends* US Market of IPTV in E/2007 is up to 1.5M subscribers. EU market of IPTV in E/2007 is up to 5.7M subscribers. Asia market of IPTV in E/2007 is up to 3.9M subscribers. In USA, application and ISP promotion of HD program and Multi-room service triggers user’s wiliness to adapt to IPTV service. In EU, it is the most blooming area for IPTV area, and more than 80 ISPs in Europe are promoting the IPTV service. Therefore the market in Europe is up to 5.7M home users which yearly growth rate in 2007 is around 111%. In Asia, although the market is not growing as fast as EU & US, ISP in China, Hongkong, Taiwan, south Korea and Japan start to promote this kind of service. And the market is up to 2.9M home users which yearly growth rate in 2007 is around 68%. More than 90 millions users are expected to sign on worldwide by 2013, according to a report released by ABI research. TIVO ---In its forth quarter reporting Wednesday, TiVo said its service is now operational in New England system operated by Comcast and will soon launch in Cox’s New England market. TiVo-owned net subscriptions climbed by 33,000 during the thress-month period. Selling Point6 - Green Ethernet for Power Saving Achieving a total power consumption less than competing products. Cutting power consumption when the network cable is disconnected from LAN. Intranet Power Consumption Intranet The f/w v1.10 implements a special function to reduce power consumption – Green Ethernet. DAP-1522 will automatic detect the cable length and then select different power mode for best performance with minimums power consumption. There are three power modes that reflect to a certain range of cable length (shorter than 20m, length is in 20m ~ 60m, longer than 60m) when Green Feature is enabled. The Green Feature could dynamic estimate connection cable length and turn on different power mode with cable estimate result. It could work on best performance with minimums power consumption in various length cables. The channel estimate is implemented by DSP technology in the physical layer transceivers. It also implements power saving mode on a per-port basis. A port automatically enters power saving mode 10 seconds after the cable is disconnected from it when power saving mode is enabled. Once a port enters power saving mode, it transmits normal link pulses only on its TXOP/TXON pins and continues to monitor the RXIP/RXIN pins to detect incoming signals, which might be the 100Base-TX MLT-3 idle pattern, 10Base-T link pulses, or Auto-Negotiation’s FLP (Fast Link Pulse).
