Seven Major Groups of Dogs Sporting dogs were developed fro hunting game Hounds were developed for hunting and tracking by sight or scent Terriers were developed to hunt underground

Major Groups of Dogs Working dogs were developed to perform services such as police and rescue work, guarding property, and pulling sleds Herding dogs were developed to assist in managing livestock such as sheep and cattle

Major Groups of Dogs Toy dogs were developed to be of small size for use as house pets and companion animals Non-sporting are miscellaneous breeds used mainly for companionship

Sporting Include pointers, setters, spaniels and retrievers Irish Setter German Shorthaired Pointer English Springer Spaniel Golden Retriever

Hound Include many types of hounds, beagles, and dachshunds Beagle Black and Tan Coonhound
