Physically hazardous waste Any sharp object that poses a threat to safety. Often refers to waste that can cause lacerations or cuts. Examples: Glass (Broken), Pipette tips, Razors, Sharp objects

7 Physically hazardous waste Place into a sturdy container labeled broken “Glass” or “Sharp Objects”

8 Physically hazardous waste Store separately from regular trash. Every year custodians are injured by sharp objects in trash cans.

9 Physically hazardous waste  Tie/tape bag closed  Seal hole by removing cover and pushing flap up.  Tape the box shut  (MAX 25 lbs)  No liquids! (gels go in hard walled pails)

10 Physically hazardous waste If not contaminated, place ‘Pitch In’ sticker on box. Place box directly into dumpster or set out for custodians to pick up. GLASS DISPOSAL
