Kings of France

This is King Louis the Fourteenth. He was born in He was the King of France. People called him the Sun King. He decided that he did not want to live in Paris where Kings had always lived.

He had a new palace built at Versailles. It was very grand. The people of Paris were not pleased that the King had moved away.

Louis the Fourteenth died when he was 77. Then Louis the fifteenth became king. Louis the fourteenth was his Grandad. He was only five when his Grandad died.

Louis the fifteenth liked spending money. He spent lots on parties and palaces. He also spent lots on wars. When he died there was not much money left. He had spent it all!

After King Louis the fifteenth had died there was another king. His name was Louis. Can you guess what his title was?
