Today’s Webcast 3 Introductions October 2011 cumulative update: – Microsoft Project 2010 fixes – Microsoft Project Server 2010 fixes – Microsoft Office Project 2007 fixes – Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 fixes – Project 2007 Service Pack 3 Cumulative update deployment and links Past webcasts
Project
Project 2010—KB – After changing data on a project that has many tasks in it, it can take multiple seconds for Project to recalculate and give control back to the user – The finish date for a deliverable dependency is displayed incorrectly in the tooltip. This is a follow-up to fix Project stops responding when you open projects that have bad manually scheduled task dates The background color and patterns in the Network Diagram view do not render correctly when they are printed or previewed
Project 2010—KB – Projects from Project 2007 may not open correctly in Project 2010 if custom Duration fields have been defined – Modifying time-phased work in Project Professional moves actual work; additionally, the "Out of Sync" message does not occur – If you print an MPP file directly from Windows Explorer, the process fails, and you receive the message "An unexpected error." Sync to Protected Actuals on a completed zero work task causes the task start date to revert to NA; this leads to a Reporting (Project Publish) queue job failure
Project 2010—KB – Deliverables fail to update correctly if there are more than 159 deliverables in one project – When paste-links are reestablished, custom field lookup table values may be lost Office - KB – After showing a VBA form, Project may crash when the project is saved (usually on or after the second save)
Project Server
Project Server 2010—KB – In the Approval Center, the last sent updates are displayed in red, now matching the Project Server 2007 behavior – In Project Web App (PWA), creating a new project from a template ignores the “Active” task flag When a status manager accepts updates, entering too many characters into the comments window causes an error, and the update is not applied and is lost Accepting assignment updates may zero out work and duration values on incomplete fixed-duration tasks
Project Server 2010—KB – A large volume of shadow table records created by Project Server leads to performance problems in Project Professional. Note: There may still be issues when custom flag fields are involved – While in a timesheet, information in the "Task hierarchy“ field does not immediately display – Custom field information from a timesheet is lost after importing into My Tasks; The same issue was addressed in Project Server 2007 in fix – In the Approval Center, assignments that have enterprise custom fields with lookup tables may appear even though the assignment hasn’t been changed
Project Server 2010—KB – Tasks that are closed are incorrectly removed from a user’s timesheet – When grouping is applied in a timesheet, an extra grouping row is added, making the view very cluttered – Material and other such assignments don't appear on team members’ task lists; Also, the New Tasks reminder counts incorrectly – The Timesheet created event is triggered before the assignments have been added and saved – In previous cumulative updates, database changes may not have been applied
Project
Project 2007—KB – Custom fields set into a project via the PSI may not be there or may be wrong when the project is opened in Project Professional – Project may crash when a bottom pane of a split view is set to the Resource Graph and the project is a master project
Project Server
Project Server 2007—KB – A large volume of shadow table records created by Project Server leads to performance problems in Project Professional; This is the same issue as in Project Server – A resource plan gets checked in before saving, which leads to an error that it is not checked out to you and blocks further use of the build team functionality – The numbered week time dimension in the OLAP cube doesn’t sort correctly in places like a Data Analysis view
Project 2007 Service Pack 3—KB and Contains all updates up to the August 2011 cumulative update – Primarily a cumulative update rollup plus security fixes Client fixes: KB Can be loaded either before or after the October 2011 cumulative update
