3 People have entered this profession from all walks of life. There have been Doctors, Engineers, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Business-persons, Employed, Housewives, Students and many others who have made good by coming to this profession.

4 A Life Insurance Agent renders a Social Service to not only the families that he/she covers but he/she generates funds for Nation Building Activities

5 The brand name LIC is today a household name which commands the trust and confidence of the common man. LIC has 2048 branches covering every nook and corner of our vast nation.

6 Under Section 37 of the Life Insurance Corporation of India Act 1956: the sums assured by all policies issued by the Corporation including any bonuses declared in respect thereof shall be guaranteed as to payment in cash by the Central Government. 9 The Procedure to become a Life Insurance Agent As per the guidelines issued by the I.R.D.A. any person aspiring to take up Life Insurance Agency has to undergo formal training for a period of 50 hours i.e. 7 to 8 days after which the person can appear for an examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India. On successfully passing this examination a License shall be issued by the I.R.D.A.

12 How much time should one devote to this business? Life Insurance Agency can be done on part-time or full-time basis. Most persons start as part-timers and some end up as full-timers. The more the time that you devote the more shall be the benefits.
