Black Rhino Native to Central and Eastern Africa Rhino’s are Herbavores, meaning they only eat plants. These animals are highly endangered only 3,610 were around in These animals can survive up to 5 days without water! FIN

Cheetah Several isolated populations of Cheetah exist in Africa and Southern Asia. Cheetah’s are carnivores, and rely mostly on hunting small animals for food. Only 12,400 Cheetahs are found in the wild. Cheetahs are the fastest land animal reaching up to 75 mph, but they can’t climb trees. FIN CHEETAH VIDEO!

Giraffe Giraffe’s are found in Central to South Africa. They are herbivores who only eat the leaves off the tops of trees. Giraffes aren’t endangered and are found all over the areas where foliage is dense. Giraffes are the tallest land animals reaching heights of 20 feet tall. FIN

Leopard Mostly found in Sub- Saharan. Leopards are carnivores, but rely and being stealthy more than strength. Leopards numbers and population are steadily declining, causing them to be on the nearly threatened list. Leopards are the only known big cat able to drag its prey into trees to eat. FIN

Lion Lions are found in Sub- Saharan Africa and in Asia. Lions are very effective hunters, hunting in groups to take down there prey. Lions are in decline. They have lost 30 to 50 percent of there population. Lions are called the “Kings of the Jungle” and have been a world wide audience grabber since Roman times. FIN

Eland Most Eland are found in the plains of Sub- Saharan Africa. Being a plains animal Eland mostly eat grasses and shrubs. The Eland due to its large size are very good at defending themselves. So they are found all over. FIN

Impala The Impala is found all throughout Central and Southern Africa. Impala are grazers and have the ability to survive in many different areas. Impalas are found abundantly today, number upwards of 2,000,000. Impala can jump distances of 33 feet and up to 9 feet high. FIN

Hippopotamus Found all throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, mostly found near water. Mainly herbivore, known to eat animals if necessary. Species have been declared in trouble. Due to vanishing habitat. Known as the most ferocious animal in Africa. FIN
