Presentation transcript:

Just A Minute This is a speaking game. It is based on a very famous game on English radio. The aim of the game is to speak for one minute on a subject. You cannot stop, make a mistake or talk about a different subject.

Just A Minute To start, we will show the first subject. In your group, you will have 2 minutes to make some NOTES. Then, we will roll a dice to choose a group to speak first. Next, Then, we will roll a dice to choose a student. The chosen student has to try to speak for one minute on that subject.

Just A Minute When a student is speaking, you can stop them by raising your hand and shouting “challenge”. You can challenge for these reasons:  Hesitation: Stopping for 2 seconds or more.  Deviation: Not talking about the subject.  Language: Not speaking correct English. If your challenge is a success, your group gets the subject.

Just A Minute You score points like this: -Ten seconds of speaking = 1 point. -Speaking at the finish = 2 points -Speaking for a whole minute = 10 points. -Deviation challenge (with reason) = 2 points -Language challenge (with correction) = 4 points. - Bonus points for funny or interesting stories.

Just A Minute REMEMBER! Speaking is the important thing. You can lie, invent or steal. Just keep talking. Work as a group.
