Radio controlled vehicles BY: STEPHEN POLIDORO

-FIRST REMOTE CONTROL CAR WAS MADE IN THE 1940’S HISTORY OF THE REMOTE CONTROL CAR -FIRST REMOTE CONTROL CAR WAS MADE IN THE 1940’S -THEY WERE SMALL NITROMETHANE-POWERED ENGINES -THE CONTROLER WAS ATTACHED TO THE CAR BY A TETHER -THE CAR WAS FAST BUT ONLY WENT IN CIRCLES BECAUSE OF THE TETHER

FIRST COMMERICALLY AVAILABlE MODEL WAS THE FERRARI 250LM in 1966

1970’S EARLY 1970’S - NITRO OR GAS-POWERED CARS WERE INTRODUCED LATE 1970’S - MECHANICALLY SIMPLE ELETRIC CAR MODELS WERE CREATED -ADDING SUSPENSION CREATED FIRST OFF ROAD REMOTE CONTROLLED CARS

TODAYS REMOTE CONTROLED CARS -FASTER -MORE DURABLE -IMPROVED TECHNOLOGY -BRUSHLESS MOTORS -STRONGER BATTERIES -QUIETER MOTORS

HOW DO REMOTE CONTROLLED CARS WORK? -THE TRIGGER IS THE MAIN CONTROL UNIT. PUSHING OR PULLING TRIGGER OPERATES THE CAR. -WHEN THE TRIGGER IS PULLED A CIRCUIT IS CLOSED. THE RADIO SIGNAL IS TRANSMITTED TO THE CAR AND IT MOVES DEPENDING ON TRIGGER MOVEMENT. -THE REMOTE ACTIVATES THE CARS MOTOR WITH ELECTRIC PULSES WHICH MAKES THE CAR MOVE IN ANY DIRECTION THAT THE OPERATOR CHOOSES. -THE ANTENNA IMPROVES THE WORKING RADIUS OF THE CAR -THE FIRST MOTOR TURNS THE FRONT WHEELS -THE SECOND MOTOR IS FOR: DRIVE, FORWARD & REVERSE -THE LOWER CHASSIS AND SHELL TOP ARE THE SKELETON OF THE RC CAR. -ALL ELECTRIC AND MECHANICAL COMPONENTS ARE HELD IN THE LOWER CHASSIS. THE BATTERY SLOT CARRIES THE BATTERY WHICH IS THE POWER SOURCE

YOU TUBE DEMONSTRATION

ANTENNA CIRCUIT BOARD 2 MOTORS BATTERY SLOT THE RC CAR HAS FOUR MAJOR COMPONENTS ANTENNA CIRCUIT BOARD 2 MOTORS BATTERY SLOT

EXPERIMENT MATERIALS NEEDED TO TEST HYPOTHESIS: -REMOTE CONTROL CAR DO DIFFERENT ITEMS BLOCK RADIO FREQUENCY? I WILL WRAP MY REMOTE CONTROLLER WITH SEVERAL ITEMS TO SEE IF IT EFFECTS IT’S FREQUENCY. MATERIALS NEEDED TO TEST HYPOTHESIS: -REMOTE CONTROL CAR -REMOTE CONTROLLER -NEWSPAPER -ALUMINUM FOIL -RUBBER GLOVE

PERFORM EXPERIMENT NOW!!!!!

TEST RESULTS/ CONCLUSION DID ANY OF THE MATERIAL INTEFERE WITH THE REMOTE FREQUENCY?
