INTRODUCTION What’s in the desert of North Africa, that is next to the Nile, and who build those large Pyramids? It’s ancient Egypt! Even though there are several legacies of ancient Egypt, papyrus is considered one of the most important legacies because of its origin, contribution, and significance.

ORIGINS To start off, papyrus is considered the most important of ancient Egypt due to its origins. As a fact, papyrus is a reed that grew in in the eastern region of Mesopotamia, Syria, eastern Sicily, and especially, the Nile River in Egypt. Papyrus is used a lot throughout ancient Egypt the reed however is made out of cyperus. What’s really interesting about this reed is it grows right next to a water source to grow and live. It’s a reed that has been there since the time of ancient Egypt. Papyrus in ancient Egypt was used to make ropes, baskets, ropes, sandals, and importantly, paper. Throughout ancient Egypt, the reed was used a lot to make multiple items such as baskets, ropes, and sandals. Most of these items that the ancient Egyptians used are some of the items that we use today in our modern world. Most importantly, it was used to make paper. However it was originally used for religious stories and documents. To summarize, due to the origin and use of papyrus, during ancient times, it is considered an Egyptian legacy.

CONTRIBUTION To begin, Papyrus is considered an important legacy of ancient Egypt due to its contribution. The ancient Egyptian used papyrus to make their baskets, rope, sandals, and importantly, paper. During the time of ancient Egypt, they used papyrus, to make several things like ropes, baskets, sandals, and paper. The ancient Egyptians used paper to write down prose, poetic, religious, and scientific text. It was even used to write down myths and stories. Also some of the paper the Egyptians was used to make the Book of the Dead. If they’ve never discovered papyrus, our world would be a different place. Therefore, due to the contribution of papyrus during ancient times, it is considered an ancient Egyptian legacy.

SIGNIFICANCE To begin, papyrus is considered an important legacy of ancient Egyptian due to its significance. Papyrus’s impact on today in our modern world is huge since its impact on our world is most humans use paper for writing, reading, and more. Papyrus back in ancient Egypt was used a lot to make their paper so they can write their stories, poetry, and their myths. Today in our modern world, we paper for books, writing, maps, and etc. even though we don’t use papyrus to make paper anymore, paper still plays an important role in our lives like using paper to make our daily newspaper and putting paper in a printer to print out images. To this day, the name of the reed that impacted us to write on paper was papyrus. To summarize, due to the significance of papyrus during ancient times it is considered an ancient Egyptian legacy.

CONCLUSION In conclusion, papyrus is the most important legacy of ancient Egypt because of its origin, contribution, and significance. Thanks to ancient Egypt, we now mostly use paper for our writing purposes and for books. Papyrus was the reed the ancient Egyptians used to make paper. Even though we now use wood chips to make our paper, the ancient Egyptian legacy of papyrus will still live on.
