SSDI & SSI Three Types of Disability Supplemental Security Income (SSI) – Limited income & assets – At age 18 – no parental income used Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) – FICA tax covered work – Spouse & dependents up to age 18 or 19 covered Disabled Adult Child (DAC) – Parent is retired, disabled or deceased – Child disabled before age 22
