A Riddle! – What is it? It is a place, but it doesn’t appear on a map; It is already established, & yet it is still to be completed; It has enemies attacking it constantly, but it is the safest, most secure place to be; It is everlasting, but for many it has not yet begun; It is real, but might not be perceived with the physical senses; It has a King, but His throne is not of this world; It is near to everyone, but still so far from so many; It is eternal—infinite, and yet it exists within the fallible, temporary parameters of human life; It has no beginning, & it has no end, yet it continues to grow; It is the most valuable treasure that anyone could have, yet comparatively few people really want it. What is it?

Matthew 4 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near. ”

Matthew 3 1 In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” 3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘ Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”

Matthew 3 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “ This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. ”

Matthew 4 1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil

Matthew 4 12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee. 13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfil what was said through the prophet Isaiah: 15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— 16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
