What is a Synonym? A synonym is a word that has the same or almost the same meaning as another word.

Synonyms It's easy to remember the meaning of synonym by using this little trick: Synonym = Same They both start with an S! examples: rabbit and bunny rocks and stones enjoy and like hot and boiling throw and toss

What is an Antonym? An antonym is a word that means the opposite of another word.

Antonyms It's easy to remember the meaning of antonym by using this little trick: Antonym = Opposite They both start with a vowel! examples: bad and good hot and cold soft and hard smooth and rough slow and fast

What is a Homograph? Homographs are words that are spelled the same but mean different things. They are sometimes pronounced differently.

Homographs For example, the word bow has two meanings: Bow means to bend at the waist after a performance. It rhymes with "wow." Bow also means something that a girl puts in her hair. It rhymes with "slow."
