THE DEE-TROIT LEAN

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and LEAN NOT on your own understanding.

FOUR CHARACTERISTICS of one whom we can trust (1) A proven record of FAITHFULNESS (2) Ability to handle ANYTHING with our best interest in mind (3) Knows EVERYTHING about us and still loves us (4)Possesses all KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING

HERE’S A FIFTH CHARACTERISTIC (not included on your outlines) (5) Completely honest with us, always encouraging us to be what we should be, and having the ability to make us better people than we are ‑

Use your God-given gifts of thinking, reason and logic but ALWAYS INCLUDE GOD, asking Him to give you guidance and direction.

Here’s the promise in verse 6... “God will DIRECT YOUR PATHS”

FAITH DOES NOT ABANDON REASON. FAITH DOES NOT DISCARD ACTION. FAITH DEMANDS OUR PARTICIPATION, OUR ACTION, OUR PRESENT, AND OUR FUTURE.

The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN.
