Disciplism THE CHURCH THAT JESUS DESIGNED

Invited inside the bookends “Come, follow me…and I will make you…” (Matthew 4:19) “All authority …therefore go and make…” (Matthew 28:18-20) The life and ministry of Jesus

Jesus’ call to follow…  “Lord, let me first go and bury my father. And Jesus said to him, let the dead bury their own dead. As for you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9: 59-60)  “Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14: 27)  “Any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14: 33)  “Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; and come follow me.” (Luke 18:22)

The environment for making disciples “They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and the fellowship, to breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.” (Acts 2)

Nuts and bolts…  How equipped am I/ are we for this?

Nuts and bolts…  How equipped am I/ are we for this?  How mature is mature enough?  The necessity of community

Think #1. If I were to reproduce my life into someone else right now, what would it look like? What insecurities and immaturity would be replicated? How do I mature in these? (Aspirational character!) #2. Who in my community demonstrates these in increasing measure? How can I share life with them and learn from them?

Pray Lord, give us people who are hungry to learn about your kingdom, and equip us to help them to maturity as disciples who multiply.

Do  As disciples of Jesus, we want to reproduce lives that tell and show what the kingdom of Jesus is like – can only reproduce what we are!  Seek and take opportunities to tell about the kingdom of Jesus, and pursue God for power to demonstrate it! Listen to him and obey when he asks you step out in healing etc. Then come back and share the good news of what he’s done!
