Today’s Text: Philippians 2:12~18 (NASB)

12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, Philippians 2 12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;  (NASB)

13 for it is God who is at work in you, Philippians 2 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work  for His good pleasure.  (NASB)

14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; Philippians 2 14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;  15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent,  children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, (NASB)

16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ Philippians 2 16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.  (NASB)

I rejoice and share my joy with you all. Philippians 2 17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.  18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me. (NASB)

1) Work out your salvation with fear and trembling; (NASB)

12 … Be energetic in your life of salvation, Philippians 2 12 … Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.;  (NLT) 12 … Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God.  (MSG)

Because God at work in you 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work  for His good pleasure.  (NASB)

13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power Philippians 2 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. (NLT) 13 For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose. (MSG)

6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 1:6)

Salvation, from start to finish, is God’s work; but, at the same time, salvation requires diligent effort on our part.

Because God is at work, I must work out my salvation.

2) So then 12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; (NASB)

just as you (all) have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, Philippians 2 12 So then, my beloved,  just as you (all) have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;  (NASB)

13 for it is God who is at work in you (all), Philippians 2 13 for it is God who is at work in you (all), both to will and to work  for His good pleasure.  (NASB)

Holding fast the word of life so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.  (NASB)

Rejoicing in midst of trials 18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me. (NASB)

I rejoice and share my joy with you all. Philippians 2 17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.  18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me. (NASB)
