What do you notice about the area of the face and the number of cubes in this layer? We know that to find the volume we have to account for the number of layers in the prism. How many layers are under the face and which dimension of the prism gives us that number? They are the same! So… We can find he volume by multiplying the area of the face by the height. 4 layers… the height
