Francisco Pizarro Dates of Exploration 1509-1532

Francisco Pizarro His Life Born in Spain around 1470 Couldn’t read or write when he was young. Pizarro was assassinated in 1541

Francisco Pizarro Reason For Exploring Pizarro started exploring when he heard about all the gold in the Incan Empire. He explored the Incan Empire, Panama, and Central America. He was sponsored by the King of Spain Pizarro made Spain one of the richest countries in the World.

Francisco Pizarro His Exploration Pizarro explored from 1509-1539 Pizarro Conquered the Incan Empire.

Francisco Pizarro Encounters With Natives He traveled to Canzmarca where the Inca’s general lived (Atahualpa). The general thought he would attack and met him with a large army. Pizarro retreated back to camp. The next day he lead a surprise attack and took 5 hostages including the general. He demanded a large sum of silver and gold for the ransom price. Then Pizarro killed the 5 hostages and the Incan Empire fell apart and Spain conquered them.
