Unit 3 Geometric Applications of Exponents
Slight change of format Inclusion of Short Cycle Tasks and Formative Assessment Lessons from the Shell Center An Achieve CCSS-CTE Classroom Task was added to integrate CTE Knowledge and Skills in classroom learning. Included Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMPs) for each Task and differentiation options Suggestions sent by educators from all over the United States via and the wiki Observations made from personal experiences Overall Changes in the Unit
Proofs of the Pythagorean Theorem - Analyze attempts to prove the Pythagorean Theorem. Circles and Squares - Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find the ratio between two shapes. Short Cycle Tasks
The Pythagorean Theorem: Square Area - Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find lengths and areas and use the area of right triangles to deduce the areas of other shapes. Making Matchsticks - Apply the volume formula to real-world situations. Calculating Volumes of Compound Objects - Apply volume formulas to compound objects. Formative Assessment Lessons
