Photo-Image electronic capturing ability and functionality. Fingerprint biometric electronic capturing ability and functionality. Personal Tracking Devices attached to person. Transceiver Units permanently located throughout facility. Mobile Transceiver Units utilised for additional areas. ENVISAGED FUNCTIONALITY: OPERATION INMATE TRACKING SYSTEM PROJECT
INTEGRATED JUSTICE SYSTEM 8 Personal Tracking Devices actively transmit prisoner’s data and location to Transceiver Units. Transceiver Units collect and communicate data to control system. Control system depicts graphical representation of facility. Prisoner query - produces view of exact location, as well as prisoner’s digital data, photo image, fingerprints, etc. Mobile Transceiver Units store data collected from Personal Tracking Device, for later download to control system. Control system interoperates with Admission, Detention & Release system (A&R), retrieving prisoner details, and updating records, reporting, etc. System alerts on events of tampering and unauthorised movements. KWAZULU NATAL PROVINCE Durban Medium A Prison. The pilot project will result in technologies / systems being evaluated at the pilot sites.
