It’s All in the Name  Nicknamed, Mark Twain, a measurement used to indicate a safe depth for a steamboat to travel.  He grew up on the banks of the Mississippi River.  He piloted a steamboat.  He got his brother interested in the same thing. Steamboats were highly flammable. His brother died in a steamboat explosion. Twain never forgave himself.  When the American Civil War broke out in 1861, traffic along the Mississippi was restricted. That means…no steamboat-ing

Family Man Twain was married and had 4 kids. He became depressed when his wife and some of his children died.

In 1909, Twain is quoted as saying:

Death Twain died of a heart attack on 1910 in Connecticut.

    The U.S. occupied the Philippines   Twain wrote & submitted this story to Harper's Bazaar, but the magazine rejected the story. “It was not quite suited for a woman's magazine” Because he had a contract with Harper & Brothers he could not publish it elsewhere.   Twain said to a friend "I don't think the prayer will be published in my time. None but the dead are permitted to tell the truth."   It remained unpublished until   In 1965 (Vietnam War) it was republished as campaigning material for war protestors.
