8.2 Systems of Equations in Three Variables Day 1 Fri May 1 Do Now Solve the system

Linear Systems in Three Variables Since there are three variables, there will also be three equations. The goal here is to take 2 pairs of equations and eliminate the same variable, leaving you with a system of equations in 2 variables

Ex Emma inherited $15,000 and invested part of it in a money market account, part in municipal bonds, and part in a mutual fund. After 1 year, she received a total of $730 interest from the three investments. The money market account paid 4% annually, the bonds paid 5% annually, and the mutual fund paid 6% annually. There was $2000 more invested in the mutual fund than in bonds. Find the amount that Emma invested in each category.

Ex Make a quadratic function using the data (0, 133), (1,179), and (2,173)
