1 3.6 – Solving a system of 3 variables
What!!!!

2 Draw and describe the different ways that Planes intersect. Pg 177

3 Can you solve by graphing?
Why or why not?

4 Steps for triple variables
1) Find the easiest variable to get rid of . One with a 1 or -1 as a coefficient. 2) Use that equation and one other . Eliminate that variable. 3) Use the same equation and the last one. Eliminate the same variable. 4) Use the two variable equations and eliminate another variable. 5) Use substitution up the line.

5 Tricks If the variables have values write as a 3d point
(x, y, z) is the final answers. If the system blows up and 0=4 or 0=-23 the answer is NO SOLUTION. If the system blows up and the final line is 4=4 or 0=0 or -36=-36. The answer is INFINITE SOLUTIONS.

6 Ex1) Solve the system. I would use linear combo.

7 Ex1) Solve the system. I would use linear combo. (2,-1,1)

8 Ex2) Solve the system.

9 Ex2) Solve the system. (5,-1,1)

10 H.W. pg 181 13-23 Odd 24,26,27,29,30 Or W.S.
