KUSD Student Acceptable Use Policy School Board Policy #6633

KUSD teachers expect students to use technology in ways that promote a productive educational environment. Technology Use

Teachers can lead instructional activities using mobile devices. You can even use your OWN technology when directed by your teacher! Mobile Devices

Appropriate use of technology equipment and resources is YOUR responsibility! Personal Responsibility

Use all technology resources (equipment, network, applications) to strengthen your learning environment Participate in positive online activities. No profanity, obscene comments, sexually explicit material or expressions of hate. Student Role

Use of all resources are for school use only. Any personal online activities should be done outside of your school day on your own device. Student Role

Follow all copyright and licensing law. See KUSD Policy # Protect yourself and others by keeping your username and password private. Student Role

All digital content you create for the web is subject to review and approval by your teacher. Your published content should reflect the mission and character of KUSD.

It is against Policy 6633 to disable, breach or compromise network stability and security. Use of proxy gateways is prohibited. Student Role

If you see anyone using technology resources inappropriately, let a teacher know right away. Electronic information changes quickly and we can’t always control what we might encounter. Use common sense! Student Role

Per the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), Federal law requires KUSD to filter content. Staff reviews and monitors files and communications to ensure responsible use. Role of KUSD

KUSD teaches safe, online behavior including social networking and cyberbullying. Law enforcement is notified if inappropriate material is sent or received. Role of KUSD

There is so much great information available and technology delivers it right to your fingertips! Technology

All laws, filtering, and policies can never work better than the best content filter created: YOUR BRAIN! The Best Filter
