AFRICA DID YOU KNOW THAT… AFRICA IS THE SECOND LARGEST CONTINENT. IT’S HOME TO THE LONGEST RIVER IN THE WORLD. AFRICA HAS THE SECOND LARGEST FRESHWATER LAKE. THE BIGGEST SEA IN AFRICA IS THE INDIAN OCEAN. IT’S SURROUNDED BY THE ATLANTIC, INDIAN OCEAN AND THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA.

THE NILE THE RIVER NILE IS APPROXIMATELY 6,853 KM LONG. IT IS THE LONGEST RIVER IN THE WORLD. THE NILE FLOWS THROUGH: UGANDA, ETHIOPIA, SUDAN, BURUNDI AND EGYPT. ALSO IT STARTS IN BURUNDI, CENTRAL AFRICA.

SEAS AND LAKES. THE DEAD SEA IS ALSO CALLED THE SALT SEA. THE RED SEA IS THE HOTTEST DESTINATION IN THE WORLD. THERE ARE 1100 DIFFERENT SPECIES IN THE RED SEA. LAKE VICTORIA IS THE SECOND LARGEST LAKE IN THE WORLD. IT’S THE CHIEF RESERVOIR OF THE NILE. The Red Sea

MARINE LIFE AND ATTACKS !! AN AFRICAN FISHERMAN WAS ATTACKED BY A GREAT WHITE SHARK BUT MANAGED TO SURVIVE! THERE ARE 40 SPECIES OF STARFISH IN THE RED SEA. THERE ARE 25 SPECIES OF SEA URCHINS. PIRATE ATTACKS OCCUR WHEN CARGO SHIPS AND OIL TANKERS ARE AROUND THE AFRICAN BAYS.

WATERFALLS AND BEACHES WI FALLS IS AT A HEIGHT OF 70M (244 FT) HIGH. TUGELA RIVER FALLS IS THE TALLEST WATERFALL IN THE CONTINENT (AFRICA). THE BEST BEACH IN AFRICA IS THE ANSE LAZIO IN THE PRASLIN ISLAND.

DID YOU KNOW… THE DRY SEASON FALLS AROUND THE END OF OCTOBER TO MARCH. THE CONGO IS THE SECOND LONGEST RIVER IN AFRICA. THE RIVER NILE TAKES 10% OF THE WHOLE OF AFRICA. THE RED SEA IS FAMOUS FOR ITS CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER.

EXTRA INFORMATION THERE ARE MORE THAN 100 SPECIES OF MOLLUSC IN THE RED SEA. THE RED SEA GOT IT’S NAME FROM THE SOFT RED CORAL REEFS. THERE ARE 150 SPECIES OF CRUSTACEANS IN THE RED SEA. THE ONLY LAKE THAT’S BIGGER THAN LAKE VICTORIA IS LAKE SUPERIOR IN NORTH AMERICA. THE BEST BEACH IN AFRICA IS THE ANSE LAZIO IN THE PRASLIN ISLAND.
