Career Interest Survey Objective: To locate, analyze, and apply career information using print and online resources. They’ll also gather preliminary education and training information specific to their chosen careers.

Career Clusters Getting an appropriate education and training is needed to be competent and competitive in your chosen career. However, it takes a lot of time and money to do so. Preparing for a career that doesn’t match your goals and personality is very costly.

Career Clusters Cont. This will take a TON of time to do, but it will be the most productive time you’ll spend in relation to your future happiness. People spend more than 50% of their waking time working which will continue for 40 years! Having a career that matches your personality, dreams, life goals, and interests is PRICELESS!

Career Clusters Cont. The US Department of Labor has outlined 16 Career Clusters that, “Encompass virtually all occupations from entry through professional levels.” You will be doing research on careers using a website called, O*NET.O*NET.

By investigating the groups that appeal to you most, you may come up with quite a number of possible careers. As we go through these clusters, check the box in your workbook next to those that interest you.
