3. ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION Prepares learners for careers in designing, planning, building, and maintaining the built environment (any structure). Some examples of careers are carpenter, landscape architect, plumber and roofer.

4. ARTS, AUDIO/VIDEO TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS Prepares learners for careers in designing, producing, performing, writing and publishing multimedia content. Examples of careers include dancer, director, illustrator and musician.

5. BUSINESS, MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION Prepares learners for careers in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating business functions. Examples of careers include auditors, human resources managers, payroll clerks, and secretaries.

6. EDUCATION AND TRAINING Prepares learners for careers in providing education and training services. Examples of careers include coach, librarian, teacher and counselor.

7. FINANCE Prepares learners for careers in financial and investment planning, banking, insurance, and business financial management. Examples of careers include accountant, bank teller, loan officer, tax preparer.

8. GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION Prepares learners for careers with the government. Careers include Army officer, CIA agent, postal worker, legislator.

9. HEALTH SCIENCES Prepares learners for careers in providing therapeutic services, diagnostic services, health information, support services and biotechnology research and development. Careers include dentist, pharmacist, doctor, nurse.

10. HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM Prepares learners for careers in marketing, management, and operations of restaurants and other food services, lodging, attractions, recreation events and travel-related services. Careers include athlete, chef, lifeguard and travel agent.

11. HUMAN SERVICES Prepares learners for careers related to families and human needs. Careers include child care worker, cosmetologist, wedding consultant and adoption coordinator.

12. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Prepares learners for careers involving the design, development, support and management of hardware, software, multimedia and systems integration services. Careers include computer operator, webmaster, computer programmer, and help desk technician.

13. LAW, PUBLIC SAFETY, AND SECURITY Prepares learners for careers in providing legal, public safety, and protective services as well as homeland security. Careers include corrections officer, firefighter, judge and lawyer.

14. MANUFACTURING Prepares students for careers in processing materials into final products. Careers include electrical engineer, machinist, textile designer, and plastics machine operator.

15. MARKETING, SALES, AND SERVICE Prepares students for careers in planning, managing and performing marketing (selling) activities. Careers include copywriter (they write commercials), cashier, salesperson, and store manager.

16. SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS Prepares students for careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Careers include astronomer, botanist, chemical engineer, and oceanographer.

17. TRANSPORTATION, DISTRIBUTION, AND LOGISTICS Prepares students for careers in the movement of people, materials, and products by road, pipeline, air, rail, and water. Careers include air traffic controller, flight attendant, locomotive engineer and truck driver.
