While the vibrant, strong sunflower is recognized worldwide for its beauty, it is also an important source of food. Sunflower oil is a valued and healthy vegetable oil and sunflower seeds are enjoyed as a healthy, tasty snack and nutritious ingredient to many foods.

We cut and paste sunflower heads, stems and leaves. We make a long and a short sunflower. We make sunflowers out of play dough. We draw sunflowers.

We plant sunflower seeds, water the plants and watch the sunflowers grow. Sunflowers love the sun. We put them in the sun. We observe the life cycle of the sunflower.
