New Hexagonal Design for MINERvA A. Bodek- Sept Now even counters have a 1.2 solid steel picture frame Around the 3 m wide active target. The 30 cm lead is Attached to the steel frame and is on both sides of the counter. The Fe Steel picture frame is not instrumented except for one layer of two triangular counters on the edge to see an exiting muon. The light is routed with a 1.2 meter long extension of The green fiber taking it to a connector outside the frame On the edge. A clear fiber cable takes the light to a phototube Odd counters have no steel or lead at all, they are just 5.4 Meter wide totally active scintillator. They go to a connector just Outside.
