3 AFS Portfolio Facts AFS is the largest proposed Portfolio by funding and people (which includes 2/3rds of all staff) Proposed to be lead by a new Chief Operations Officer to oversee all field operations Operates 122 WFOs, 13 RFCs, 22 CWSUs, 2 TWCs, 1 VAAC, 7 NCEP Service Centers, National Water Center, 6 Regional HQ and a National HQ Unit HQ unit responsible for Service Policy, Continuity of Operations, Directives, Requirements and Portfolio Management AFS to contain 11 National Service Programs: Aviation, Climate, Fire Weather, Hydrology, Marine, Public, Severe Weather, Space Weather, Tropical Weather, Tsunami and Winter Weather
