Topic 3 Grey System Theory

Ming-Feng Yeh Introduction Grey system theory was initiated in 1982 by Julong Deng. The systems which lack information, such as structure message, operation mechanism and behavior document, are referred as grey systems. A Grey system means that a system in which part of information is known and part of information is unknown. Grey: poor, incomplete, uncertain, etc.

Ming-Feng Yeh3-3 Goal of Grey System In general, the analysis of system characteristics is based on the statistical model which finds the statistical properties between data in a large sample set. A large sample set is not that easy to be available; therefore, many systems are said in a status of poor information. The goal of grey system and its applications is to bridge the gap existing between social science and natural science.

Ming-Feng Yeh3-4 Essential Topics Grey relational space Grey generating space Grey forecasting (grey modeling) Grey decision making Grey control Grey mathematics Grey theory
