Soldiers Returning Home Conflict! Soldiers vs. Civilians - Factories were laying off workers - Women and immigrants had work - Soldiers returning home needed jobs but many found themselves unemployed

Soldiers Returning Home - Soldiers needed money to support themselves and their families - Demanded cash bonuses from the government  denied - Instead, the government offered small pensions, free land in the west, hospitals for the wounded

Soldiers Returning Home - Soldiers were ready to die for their country, but their country wouldn’t even give them a job? - Soldiers felt proud of their victory, but unemployment in Canada made them feel humiliated

Spanish Flu, This deadly virus spread quickly in the trenches - Soldiers returning home carried the virus with them - Crowds and parades helped the virus spread quickly  Pandemic

Spanish Flu, In Canada, some schools, theatres and churches were closed to stop the spread of the flu - Many died  about Canadians when_half_the_city_took_ill/spanish_fluepidemic.jpeg.size.xxlarge.letterbo x.jpeg
