5 Things We Can Offer Smaller churches can do things that bigger churches can't do. Some people will ask – What can this church do for me?

Bigger not always better Many think bigger is better If we were a BIG church we could ________ But we are too small to ___________ Flip side – Bigger is NOT always better Most NT churches were small – meeting in homes of members

Bigger not always better Not a big church hater – I preached for a church of 600. Worship is often like going to a ballgame or a concert Don't know the people around you but there for the same purpose Here are 5 things that small churches have to offer people in the community

1 - Intergenerational We don't have 100 teens, youth minister, singles minister, senior minister I have been in churches where age groups did not fellowship or interact with those younger or older. Teens over there, young married on the other side, senior members in middle section Small churches will have elderly, teens, young married work together.

2 – Welcome special needs A child or family with special needs is lost in the crowd of a large church A small church can support the child and family Love, fellowship, attention, make welcome Smaller classes make for better learning and personal attention

3 – More Participation Small church may not have a professional to lead singing But we have more involved. A large church might have several able and willing Here almost every male member is invovled in some part of worship each Sunday All are needed for VBS, Bible Bowl, Egg Hunt, and other events and activities

4 – More focus on outreach We are in contact with more people from this area than many large churches We had about 50 non-members at Egg Hunt We had about 150+ non-members at our Trunk or Treat last October About half of the children at VBS are not from members

5 – Family Feel Large churches feel like a crowd Small churches feel like a family People know they are loved, cared for, appreciated, accepted We are family!
