Presentation transcript:

Imagine a world without photographs.

Why have I chosen my subject and the related question? Photography is one of my hobbies, and I have been always fascinated by it and by the possibilities it gives, how it influenced people and changed the world.

Why have I chosen my subject and the related question? I chose the question 'Imagine a world without photographs' as I found it most intriguing. It's not so easy to imagine a whole new world without photography, and the possibilities of different ways the world could evolve are endless. Writing about it will be more like exploring new worlds, that is why I want to do it.

How I am going to go about answering the question? First I will need to understand the difficulties of living in a world without photography. I am going to do a small experiment, I will try to live one day avoiding any types of photography and make notes how it made my day more difficult.

How I am going to go about answering the question? I will also do a research on other people views, on the history of photography, how the world looked like before inventing it.

What do I think I will gain by answering this question? I will definitely understand better the importance of photography in our world. I will learn more of how it changed the way we see the world and how it changed us.

What do I think I will gain by answering this question? I also will find out what are the pros and cons of photography, and other people views on it.

Who will I use to help me construct my arguments? As I will be questioning photography I will start from looking at the inventors of photography such as Thomas Wedgwood, Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, Louis Daguerre.

Where will I go to get information to help me write my essay? I'll be also looking at modern photographers, photography critics, any articles related to photography and the world without it.

Where will I go to get information to help me write my essay? I will be using books, articles, internet all sort of primary research. I also want to research different fantasy worlds which do not include photography, and compare them with our world before inventing photography.
