Would you be ready to do anything for the one you love ?

 Would = hypothesis / unreal /imaginary question / so need to CONTEXTUALIZE your arguments + examples = time/place/ people/situation/ problems/possible solutions?/ It’s about your decisions /opinions/ your perception and understanding of the situation.  To do = action (what action ?for what purposes ? What would be the outcome of doing it NOT doing it ? )  Anything = what could it be ( need a context!) what is / are the limits ? Are there limits ? What could stop me ?  The one you love = one person = your boyfriend / girlffriend / your future wife/ husband /partner /

 List the pros and cons = for and against ! Remember to contextualize = I’ve been married to her / him for five years, what would I do if…  Find examples you comment on (connect the examples to your arguments.)

Context = I’ve been married to her / him for five years, what would I do if … Yes I wouldNo I wouldn’t If she/he had a serious illness I would be ready to give up on an organ for her/him(liver/spine/ kidney). Example Nunez (but science fiction! Comment on his choice = hard choice but love stronger). If we found ourselves in a situation in which I had to choose between my life and her / his life, I would save hers/ his first, then mine. Example, Titanic, Jack and Rose = first helps her ! Transition = not that easy ! In some situations love may not just be enough. If she/he had serious psychological / gambling problems / drug problems / if she /he had been unfaithful (trust has been broken) that would start having bad consequences on my health / my family. Personal example? If I had to do something against my moral values / religious beliefs for our couple. Example Jude the obscure by Thomas Hardy Sue leaves Jude though she loves him deeply because she can’t live out of marriage and he’s already married.

 Make a list of all the vocabulary you may need.  Look up for words if you are not sure about their precise meaning.  Think about the tenses you are going to use ( here = If + simple past // Would + verb )  Write a first paragraph (your first argument +exemple)  Write the second paragraph (2 nd argument + example and so on)  Use link words between ideas and parapgrahs ( moreover, futhermore, besides / However, nevertehless ect …=  Write a short transition between part I and II (pros and cons.)  Write your introduction (in which you ask the essay question and contextualize it) and conlusion (you answer the question insisting on the difficulty to have a yes/ no answer.)

 Introduction = For years, love has been the main topic of films, novels and songs. Most of the time characters are ready to give up on everything for the one they love. But, would I be ready to do the same if I had a boyfriend/ girlfriend whom I am really in love with ? This isn’t an easy question but it is worth thinking about it.

 Giving up on everything or doing anything for the one you love is not that easy. Life is complex and people may find themselves in difficul situations in which love may not be enough. Making a choice is the most difficult thing to do in life, for whatever we decide, there are always consequences. The question is then how can we make the best choices without hurting oneself or the one we love ?
