BLUESMIRF SILVER BY MICHAEL SANCHEZ AND HECTOR REYNA

OVERVIEW What is Bluetooth and how does it work? How to configure and use Sparkfun BlueSMiRF.

BLUETOOTH It is an standardized secured wireless communication protocol. Utilizes 2.4 GHz frequency

HOW DOES IT WORK? Bluetooth networks = piconects Piconects are composed of: 1. Single master 2. Multiple slaves

HOW DOES IT WORK? Bluetooth devices all have a unique address, which is usually presented as a 12 digit hexadecimal value. Number is shown has the MAC NO.

HOW TO CONNECT? 1. Inquiry: An exchange of address. 2. Paging: Initialization of connection. 3. Connection: They can be in four different modes. 4. Paired Devices

BLUETOOTH PROFILES Bluetooth profiles build upon the foundation of the standard protocol. These profiles are defined by what is the device being used for.

BLUETOOTH PROFILES Serial Port Profile (SSP) Human Interface Device (HID) Hands-Free Profile (HFP) Advance Audio Distribution Profile(A2DP) A/V Remote Control Profile(AVRCP)

BLUESMIRF SILVER The silver version uses RN-42. Which means that it uses less power and can transmit/receive up to 10 meters. The maximum operating voltage used is 3.3 volts. Since it has a 3.3 volt regulator you can supply up to 6 volts.
