An overview: why ? Teens are considered the fastest growing advertising market in the United States (PBS Frontline, 2001) WebQuests develop information-seeking skills in vital ways (Dodge, 1998) Major foci of library media instruction today: – Information literacy standards (Information Power, 1998) – State instructional standards (English Language Arts; Math, Science and Technology; Social Studies) – Collaboration between teachers and library media specialists

Technical aspect of project Design a learning pipeline – Placed links at bottom of site Homepage – Student and Teacher areas are separated Color coded pages – Quick way to ensure students are completing their given assignment – Teachers able to maintain control of student progress

Execution of the project Pre-instruction surveys (interests, reactions) WebQuest instruction in the computer lab – Three groups follow course, answer questions Classroom discussion session – Poster creation based on group consensus – Individual opinions formed based on WebQuest results
