Stereo Imaging – S2

Stereoimaging Using Stereo Webcam program And Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 program Obtained many testers of creating stereoimages.

EXAMPLE

Unfortunately – best to save images as bmp images So as a treat…(prepare your 3-D glasses)

Pdsimg.jpl.nasa.gov/project/mpf/mprv_0001/document/rcinst.htm NASA surely can’t be wrong!!! We’ll find out anyway Internet search Calibration Hit on NASA website

Being NASA’s policy – Everything’s complicated! On ‘Sojourner’, flat black sheet with 17 x 17 grid of white circles used, with perfect separation and probably expensive equipment Being a student’s policy – Everything must be simplified (dumbed down) Bit of A4 lined paper with a ruler, a pencil/permanent marker, and a Rich. Extremely Cost Effective!!!

12 12 Initially the Sine rule is used to determine the distance from one camera (say camera 2), to the object. Then basic trigonometry is used to ascertain the perpendicular distance from the system. Once these two distances are know, the distance to any point, of known distance relative to the camera, can be calculated. Where (a) is known and angles B and A can be found from the image obtained.

Camera Screen To find angles B, C and A, a screen of known size is placed in front of the camera and moved closer until it covers the whole field of view. The distance from camera to screen is recorded. ScreenCamera D
